Guide on Travelling to Bohol

When you are planning to have a vacation or travel to Bohol, here is your guide on the famous places to visit and how to get there. The most popular port of entrance is located in Tagbilaran City, although there are other seaports like in Tubigon which is located approximately 53.6 kilometers northwest of Tagbilaran, Talibon seaport, Jagna seaport, Ubay seaport, Loon seaport and Getafe seaport. Aside from seaports, the Tagbilaran airport also caters flights from Manila and Cebu and vice versa. If you're coming from Cebu City, the best way is to take the Tagbilaran seaport which is just an hour and half travel via fastcraft. Once you arrived in Tagbilaran, there are bunch of rent-a-car to select from. If you are in a tight budget you can rent a bike or just commute at the very least.

Of course the first thing that you are going to do upon arriving is to look for a pension house or a hotel. Here I will give you few of the affordable but yet comfortable hotels and pension houses. Vest pension house which is located at Tamblot extension Tagbilaran City, San Jose Pension House at San Jose Street and QM pension house which is at Airport Road all in Tagbilaran City. Just tell the driver of the tricycle to drive you to one of this hotels. If you are planning to stay in the beach-front hotels, Pangloa is the best place for you. Panglao is best known for its white sand beaches and diving spots. There were water sports available like jet ski, banana boat and a lot more. Panglao is best for your summer vacation.

Chocolate Hills is about 65km away from Tagbilaran City. It is located in the town of Carmen. The hills are not climbed just like what we always thought but there is a viewing deck from where you can marvel at the scenery around. At the foot of the hills there were ATV rides for additional adventure and fun.

Along the way to Carmen(Chocolate Hills) is the famous Loboc River cruise where you can enjoy the view of Loboc river while enjoying your buffet lunch. The cruise takes about an hour long through the river. At the start of the cruise, people are invited to start lunch by feasting on the buffet that is served. Also on board each restaurants is the entertainment given by singers on board.
 


Mahogany Forest
Tarsier conservatory area is also located in Loboc along the way to Carmen. It is an initial six-hectare woodland area located in barangay Upper Bonbon. Tarsier Conservation Area is the new home of the captive tarsiers previously displayed for tourists along the Loboc River.
Now it is where the famous mammal is conserve and reproduced. You can also buy some souvenir items there.




Mahogany forest is a  man made forest composed of Mahogany trees. You can feel the cool breeze of air that touches your skin when you are under the canopy of this thick forest. People who are travelling to Chocolate Hills often drop by and take photos here. A few vendors are also selling souvenirs the there.
